Stargazing Gran Canaria was founded by a group of astronomy and astrophotography enthusiasts who wanted to share their love for the night sky with others. Our mission is to provide unforgettable stargazing experiences that inspire awe and wonder, while promoting awareness and respect for nature — especially the night sky.
After years of successfully running Stargazing Tenerife, where we welcomed thousands of guests under the stars of Mount Teide, we knew it was time to bring the same magic to Gran Canaria. With its stunning mountain landscapes and clear, dark skies, this island offers the perfect setting for another chapter in our journey.
We believe that light pollution is disconnecting people from one of the most beautiful and informative aspects of the natural world. In fact, about 70% of the world’s population no longer has access to a truly dark sky — meaning many have never even seen the Milky Way.
Through our tours, we aim to change that. We hope our guests leave with a deeper understanding of the cosmos, a renewed sense of wonder, and a desire to protect and preserve the night sky. Who knows — maybe we’ll even inspire a few future astronomers along the way.
We have been operating on the Canary islands for years. Our guides have a deep knowledge of astronomy (NOT astrology!!!). The senior guides are certified by the Starlight Foundation, the world’s leading institution in the defense of the night sky and in forming official guides, and the other ones are in the process. We use powerful Dobsonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain computerized telescopes to enjoy great views of the celestial objects…also, we are friendly and fun!

He is one of the earliest Monitor Astronómico Starlight, and has incredible knowledge in astronomy and all things night-sky related.
He is also the creative mind behind the business aspect of the company, always bringing new ideas to provide our guests with the best experience.
A natural-born traveller and photographer from Brazil, Diego has been based in the Canary Islands since 2020. After discovering a deep passion for astronomy, he became Starlight-certified and began sharing the wonders of the night sky with others. Today, he leads stargazing tours across the islands, helping fellow travellers experience one of the clearest and most awe-inspiring skies on the planet.
